Put slow-moving stock in context.
Read the recorded stock position beside recent selling activity and cost evidence. Make the review window visible before choosing the next question.

Separate the three questions.
A recorded quantity, a historical rate and the evidence needed for a decision answer different questions.
01
What was recorded?
The sample snapshot records 120 Jackets and 60 Overshirts. It does not prove that these units are available to sell.
02
Over which sales window?
Jacket sales average 4 units/week over the last four weeks and 6 over the last eight. The denominator changes the comparison.
03
What still needs review?
Overshirt unit cost is missing. Reservations, inbound stock, condition and reconciliation need their own evidence.
Inspect the stock and its sales context.
Select a product, historical window and illustrative threshold. These local controls change prepared numbers; no inventory system is connected.

Sales units ÷ selected weeks = observed rate. Recorded stock units ÷ observed rate = historical cover at that rate.
16 ÷ 4 = 4 units/week
120 ÷ 4 = 30 weeks
This assumes the observed rate continues and ignores missing supply/reservation evidence. It is not a sellout forecast, availability proof or replenishment recommendation.

Understand what changed in the review.
Both historical windows stay visible. A chosen threshold is an educational preset, not a validated category policy or a stock classification.

Within chosen review threshold
Values display up to two decimal places. Threshold comparisons use the unrounded cover; “above” means strictly greater than the chosen threshold.
Keep cost evidence separate from an outcome.
A supplied historical cost input supports arithmetic. It does not establish current market value, accounting valuation, a write-off, margin, recovered revenue or released cash.

Check sales coverage
Confirm recorded-sales coverage and stockout history before treating observed sales as demand.
Confirm unit cost
Confirm the source and period of the unit cost; an absent cost cannot become zero.
Illustrative unit cost: €24
Confirm available quantity
Reconcile the physical and recorded quantities, condition, reservations and inbound records before claiming availability.

What do these quantities and calculations mean?
Snapshot quantity and receipt age are authored sample metadata, not a current count or elapsed live time. Historical sales rates use the chosen denominator. Zero sales is an observed rate of zero, not missing sales; cover is then not calculable. Known cost basis uses only supplied costs, and missing cost remains unknown. A threshold comparison is a review signal, never a validated stock category or permission to act.
Bring the stock context to the next decision.
A future action needs verified availability, costs, chosen policy, supply timing and an approved workflow. These pages explain distinct evidence questions; this example moves no stock and prepares no listing.
